Host of activities dot Nepal on social service day

Kathmandu: The nation celebrated the 38th Social Service Day amid the organization of a host of programmes and activities for three days (September 22 -24), it is important for the civic society and policymakers to make a serious evaluation of the overall social service environment obtaining in the country. 

The 38th Social Service Day was observed across the country with various programmes. With the slogan, ‘Peace and Prosperity- Aspiration of All: Selfless Involvement in Social Service’, the Day was celebrated for three consecutive days.

While, addressing an event organised by the Social Welfare Council (SWC) in the Capital to mark the Day, President Bidya Devi Bhandari that said non-governmental organisations should work for the people with concrete results.

NGOs should be impartial, transparent, and responsible, while focusing on national interest, and social service, she said.
